Well guys, I’ve been dabbling with this game on and off for about 4 years now, and I never thought much about players of the old era, or the “Hogan” mystique. I have been a dedicated fan of Tiger, Dustin Johnson, Adam Scott, Geoff Ogilvy, and all the other “current” stars. A few years ago, when I stumbled into this complex game, I laughed at players in the old black-n-white videos, and promised to build my game around the cool players of today. Something changed…….after casually browsing youtube one day, I stumbled across some guy analyzing the Hogan swing, and saying there was some hidden “secret” in his motion. Hmmmm…..I like mysteries! And I like a challenge! I’ve seen a lot of golfers on youtube with this same goal in mind; it will be fun to see who can get it figured out first. I’m glad to say that I’m intensely intrigued with Hogan’s one plane lag action, and now will begin a quest to see how close I can come to duplicating what many have been trying for years to do. Sooooooo, here goes. For now, I’m working on positions. I am matching a couple of them, but most are waaaaaay off. I’m focusing on the basics; I want to make sure club is glued to the plane going up, and is glued to it going down. As i progress throughout the next few months, I’ll post detailed swing analysis. As much as I never believed in the “secret” hooplah, I must admit that I have accidentally stumbled across a basic formula and theory of my own, but I dont want to say much about it right …
